The Martian LEGO set has reached 10'000 supporters

The Martian LEGO set product idea, created by Steve Iuliano aka Mr Sci-Fi, has reached 10'000 supporter threshold on LEGO Ideas. Now it will go through a review by LEGO and, if approved, the final design will be created and made purchasable as a real LEGO Ideas set. The set includes Mark Watney's Habitat (HAB), Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV), Rover and the NASA's Pathfinder probe and Sojourner rover found by Mark Watney during his voyage in the famous 2015 sci-fi movie The Martian.

Support for a SpaceX Starship & Super Heavy LEGO set

SpaceX Starship & Super Heavy LEGO set - cover
"Saturn V LEGO set" co-designer Valerie Roche and her "SpaceX – The Ultimate Collection" co-designer Matthew Nolan, along with fellow LEGO fan designer Mark Nolan have created a 1:110 scale LEGO set of SpaceX's stainless steel Starship & Super Heavy (previously known together as Big Falcon Rocket). The creators promise to frequently update the design of the set as SpaceX announces new design changes for Starship & Super Heavy.

To make this set a reality, inspiring the children (and not only them) about spaceflight, the creators need our support to reach 10'000 votes on LEGO Ideas. There are 2499 votes for now.

Please, go HERE and click "Support"!

Here are some images from the design. Open link in new tab to view image in full resolution.

My LEGO Mars colony #2

When I finished my 1st LEGO Mars base back in April, 2014 (inspired from GRusso's idea for a LEGO Mars base) my boys were telling it's too small :) So now I pulled oneself together to build a bigger one - one which you could call even a small "colony" not only a "base". Part of the colony (the living quarters and some of the maintenance facilities) is hidden underground a mountain for better protection from radioactivity. Click to view in full resolution:

My LEGO Mars base

Inspired from GRusso's idea for a LEGO Mars base, I built one by myself from my old LEGO bricks.

Note that I don't have any pack of space themed LEGO's so I had to improvise a lot. Most pressing was the absence of big windows for the greenhouse and appropriate hermetic-looking doors. Click to view in full resolution:
