Images from The last days on Mars movie
The horror sci-fi thriller "The last days on Mars" (2013) by itself with its zombie virus nonsense is a complete crap, but visually it's quite attractive. Here are some of the best images from the movie (Open link in new tab to view in full resolution):

HD images from The Martian movie
The upcoming sci-fi movie "The Martian" is based on the novel by Andy Weir and is directed by Ridley Scott (known for Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Prometheus and countless other movies). The Martian will hit theaters mostly on early October 2015 (see full list of release dates here).
Plot in brief: "During a manned mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return."

My LEGO Mars colony #2
When I finished my 1st LEGO Mars base back in April, 2014 (inspired from GRusso's idea for a LEGO Mars base) my boys were telling it's too small :) So now I pulled oneself together to build a bigger one - one which you could call even a small "colony" not only a "base". Part of the colony (the living quarters and some of the maintenance facilities) is hidden underground a mountain for better protection from radioactivity. Click to view in full resolution:

Martian base concept by Janek Kozicki & Joanna Kozicka
Polish engineers/architects Janek Kozicki & Joanna Kozicka has long been working for an architectural design proposal for a Martian base after NASA (or SpaceX) will land humans on Mars for the 1st time. They call it a stage 2 and stage 3 Martian bases (stage 1 - 1st landing base; stage 2 - a small permanent Martian base; stage 3 - small Martian settlement; stage 4 - Martian cities).

Marker sketches of Mars by Phil Smith
Mars related marker sketches (2005-2006) by American artist Phil Smith. More of his art here.
Most of these sketches was made for Mars Foundation - an organisation whose mission is to inspire the next generation of Mars explorers. They run several research projects (as 3D printing on Mars) to design, fund, build and operate the first permanent settlement on Mars (Mars Homestead Project). Click to view in full resolution:

My LEGO Mars base
Inspired from GRusso's idea for a LEGO Mars base, I built one by myself from my old LEGO bricks.
Note that I don't have any pack of space themed LEGO's so I had to improvise a lot. Most pressing was the absence of big windows for the greenhouse and appropriate hermetic-looking doors. Click to view in full resolution:
